Back on track

So, yesterday was another day at the gym. Actually, I had another day last week but I was still so sore that it doesn’t count. I just did some upper body work outs and rode some bicycle to get the blood flowing in my legs. It did good, but as I said, it doesn’t count.

Anyhow, yesterday then… I entered the gym with confidence, a somewhat concerned mind, would it once again be a struggle? And a cold. Great.

First of all, the gym was packed! Both squat racks where busy as well as the bench press, so I sat on the bike and pedaled my way through 2 kilometers. Then I could get over to the squat rack. Did some warmups and loaded the new weight, it’s do or die! See results and evaluation below.

Squats
5 x 62,5 kilos
5 x 62,5 kilos
5 x 62,5 kilos
5 x 62,5 kilos
5 x 62,5 kilos

Barbell row
5 x 50 kilos
5 x 50 kilos
5 x 50 kilos
5 x 50 kilos
5 x 50 kilos

Bench press
5 x 42,5 kilos
5 x 42,5 kilos
5 x 42,5 kilos
5 x 42,5 kilos
5 x 42,5 kilos

General feeling: It felt pretty good actually, with cold and all. The weight where no problem, not even the squats. Strange given that I had that many issues with 60 kilos less than a week ago. Barbell row was a bit rough at first, my technique wasn’t that good for the first set. But I managed. Bench press was quite easy, I even did more reps than 5 for 3 or 4 sets. A bit killing though, the guy I shared the bench with did 85 kilos and he was about my size but a couple of years younger… Oh well, he didn’t have a beard so I guess I won anyway.
