Go hard or go home

Third session at the gym, back at my StrongLifts 5×5 program, and it feels very good. I’m still running on low weights but I’ve figured that I need to do it that way, I will get worn out, lose motivation and just don’t go there anymore if I start adding up weights. I will fail, and I don’t like fails.

Squats

General feeling: I did some warmup with lover weights on the squats, like the bar, 30 kilos, 40 kilos, 50 kilos and then straight up to 65 kilos. The first two or three reps did not feel good. My knees where hurting but I kept going and then it worked better. I don’t know what happened but whatever. No signs of being sore today either. Good connection and power in the legs, and both abs and arms where activated to. I guess the yoga session made me more aware of the breathing and how to activate more muscles. Haha! 67,5 kilos on the bar on friday!

Overhead Press

General feeling: As you might see above, I started with 35 kilos, because honestly 25 kilos that I had the last time was too easy. Aaaaand 35 was to heavy. At least right now. I had to go down to 30 and finish of the last 4 sets and that was ok. Still heavy and all but I made it. Felt good and I’ll go to 32,5 kilos next time.

Deadlift
5 x 102,5 kilos

General feeling: 102,5 kilos on the bar. New weight discs at the gym made it look heavy as hell! Bad ass so to speak. I probably need to do some easier weight as warmup here, my technique isn’t what it used to be. But I’ll get there. 102 was heavy though, between rep 2 and 3 I had to take a micro pause because I felt a bit dizzy. Did the mixed hand grip for the two last reps, felt ok. Next time it will be 105 kilos which is my former record. Exciting!
